Fabulous interview Mary! She's such an amazing woman. I loved hearing about her take on her competition with Chris Everett! And the bird in the background was a riot!

It was wonderful! Too hard to pinpoint a favorite part, though I think I could listen to her talk all day about her experiences in former Czechoslovakia and the parallels to what’s happening here, as well as the BS she endured while playing tennis. I’ve never been able to stomach any of the Real Housewives shows, I may have to give RHOM a shot! Keep up the great podcast interviews, Mary! Love them!

Fascinating reparte! IMHO, the present circumstances require ALL of us to become reluctant political analysts - it's literally a matter of life and death. It always has been, but most folks presumed the right thing would happen even if they don't vote. Clearly, most folks were very, very wrong. Now, we have to turn this behemoth "ship" around to drag all of us out of the bleachers and out onto the battlefield - and into the voting booth. Thanks for being such a great cheerleader and sober thinker to keep us energized, inspired, and right minded. (PS: Martina! What a "get"! You rocked it!!)

Great interview, Mary. I grew up watching Chris and Martina, so it was nice hearing her perspective on the rivalry, among other things. Two notes on politics from the podcast: Your phrase "permanent minority power" got a "wow" out of me when I heard it -- it's dead-on as far as republicans' intentions. Also, Martina is correct, unfortunately, about the danger of DeSantis, who is brighter than your uncle, though you wouldn't know it from listening to him. His undergraduate degree is from Yale and his law degree from Harvard. Smarter and now has several years of perspective to map out a plan. To possibly (likely?) stop him, we need to defeat him in 2022, which is no easy task when you realize the last Democrat to hold that office left in 1999 after being defeated by Jeb Bush. Plus, the two strongest candidates are the former governor who subsequently lost two statewide elections -- thus giving us Marco Rubio and Rick Scott -- and a dynamite woman who won statewide office in 2018 and is now commissioner of agriculture and consumer services but has two potential negatives: She's a woman and she's Jewish. Additionally, DeSantis wants the republican-led legislature to give him more money to go after election "fraud" and to restart a long-dead Florida militia. I'm not sure those two aren't linked and that the ultimate goal is to intimidate himself to a win, thus positioning himself to run for president. If donald runs, DeSantis becomes the "rational, level-headed" alternative. But back to the Martina interview, really enjoyed it.

Thank you for this interview, Mary. I’ve admired Martina’s tennis dominance for a very long time but her political savvy is astounding. Listening to the two of you simultaneously broke my heart but also gave me hope. We are certainly living in frightening times.

Thanks for another great interview Mary. I’m a big Martina fan for all of the same reasons that you are. Martina’s life story is fascinating & she absolutely makes the most of her power to influence & make change. As Martina said, you too are courageous as you speak truth & put yourself out there. We appreciate you both & together we’re going to save our democracy…we must. Stay safe, keep making waves & standing in truth.

I enjoyed this interview possibly more than any other I've ever heard. Please continue political discussions on future shows. The information gleaned from individuals in celebratory positions adds so much. Thank you Mary and Martina.

So great to here from Martina and her views weren't getting bashed! I had to stop listening around the time when she warned about living in Communist Czechoslovakia and the similarities between then and now. Did you ask her about the mental health issues of today's players? She had it tough - being a former immigrant and gay, but that didn't stop her. I also didn't realize that her rankling in the game was fudged at times.
