I’m so sorry for what you’re going through, Maureen. The void left by deep losses can be overwhelming at times. I’m glad Mary’s music is helping, and I hope whatever you are able to write helps, too.

The losses have been devastating, but last night my dog Fitbit and I walked to the mailbox and found that I’d received a package from three of my cousins who are sisters. They’d sent me a very old pocket watch that had belonged to our grandfather. We were very close, our grandfather and I... his days of being a musician and my playing his trumpet when I went to school. When I saw the watch I knew this was one of very few items he’d left behind, and I had a very long cry. They’d put his watch in a display holder. It’s a very simple pocket watch... very much him. I’m very moved and uplifted by their generosity and love. Crying for family kindness is healthy.

Mary L Trump, Whenever I was in California I could see Tower Records. That was the most exciting part of being there. As I recall it was very tall and much higher than any other building around.
