I stopped in to visit my 86 year old neighbor yesterday and she shared with me a book of poetry she printed and bound for her 8th grade creative writing students back in 1989.
Reading these poems has brought me so much joy the past two days and are a great reminder that great art can come from anywhere.
This poem seems quite poignant in relation to Donald's endless lies...
A GAME OF CHECKERS
I often win
Well, once in a while
Why not always
Like everyone else
I don't know
If you play your cards right
You shall.....win...
If you move your man correctly
You may.....win...
But unwisely, usage of the brian
Will lead you to the agony and pain
And if so, you will see
How cruel the game can be.
I'll move to the left
And I'll jump to the right
And I'll make a doubt lift
Right accross the border.
So, I have reached my goal
Now I am at the end
And now, now it is time
For my reward
I do so feel as though
I've been crowned a KING!
Life itself is like a game
You must either play your game straight to win
Or you cheat and have it come back around to you

I have been following you for a month or so and became a paid subscriber to be able to listen to this. I am terrified of another Trump administration, our democracy is at stake. I was horrified in 2016 and a win in 2024 would be so much worse. Growing up in the ‘burbs of NYC, in NJ, heard about Donald in the news all of the time. He sickened me way back then.

I am seeking freedom from this organized lockdown of my person.
With today's events in Israel, President Biden should put U.S. production industries on a "War Time" footing. Even if we don't get directly involved in another war, or not soon, we need to ramp up production of necessary war materials, equipment, etc. to supply our allies who are fighting wars. We also must produce enough for ourselves, should the need arise. The United States Doesn't need to get Caught By Surprise Again!! Best Regards

Does anyone else see the irony in the recent emergence of Donald’s mini me, George Santos? Someone whose whole existence is founded on lies and fantasies. Maybe the former guy’s not a secret drag queen but his attempts to hang on to his youth, with elaborate hairdos and makeup smacks of desperate attempts to hide the truth. Donald is an old man, he’s obviously deeply insecure and painfully flawed. Unfortunately his father apparently instilled in him a compulsion to win at any cost, but he lacked and still lacks the ability to succeed without cheating. Put simply he’s a total fraud and a loser.
Thank you Mary. This was a great interview with Johnathan Greenberg. I agree that Trump is going into a spiral. He will attempt delays but he is going to go down.
Donald's dad did make a monster out of him. So sad. I always have said he wasn't worth what he said he was. He has been lying all the time about being rich. He is just a corrupted man and will never ever see his own faults. Mary, is the best of the best. She is the truth and the light. He sure is a stable idiot, not a genius by no means. I have said each and everyday something new is coming out to the light from the darkness.
