I agree. A good number of these criminals in congress deserve handcuffs, but what will it take to make it happen. If we can't have equal justice in congress & SCOTUS, this criminal GOP behavior will continue & that is unacceptable.
I am disgusted with the impotent men and women supposedly doing the work of the American people in Congress. We in America have come to a point where many in our Congress are there for self-aggrandizement, and the Americans who voted for them seem to choose the loudest and most clownish to represent them. This total inability to act like adults and accomplish anything, has emboldened terrorists and autocrats around the globe and opened the door to another 9-11.
This is not a video game it has real implications for the future safety of our country.
Well the root cause is in the Reagan/Bush take over of the WH for 12 years, the repeal of the Fairness Doctrine, which was done by BUSH SR's corrupt FCC (not Reagan's) who went against congress. I'm not talking about the equal time rule either. Bush repealed the F.D. based on a lie, that it "conflicted" with the 1st amendment...& that's just not true. The F.D. did not allow propaganda, opinion, lies, during news broadcasts. Those that say "well it couldn't be used in cable news", are missing the larger point. Spreading propaganda via radio, tv, & internet should not legal during actual news broadcasts. They can lie all they want on their opinion shows, but they should NEVER have the carte blanche to lie about the actual news & to smear it's opponents during broadcast news.
Those susceptible to this brain-washing, are ignorant of the fact that this is happening & after 30 years of this propaganda, they literally can't engage logic or critical thinking. I personally view this as Unconstitutional. After all, how can a person, who is being brainwashed with lies about what's in their best interest, pursue life, liberty & the pursuit of happiness? I think a class-action lawsuit could be considered to sue the RNC, GOP, & others that corruptly enabled this.
Most Americans are far too engrossed in their affluence to understand the hypocrisy of their values and their behavior. Compared to the rest of the world this nation is still attractive to billions of people who live under the illusion that America is the "home of the free and the brave". Nothing could be farther from the truth and the evidence can be found everywhere. Even the poetry on the Statue of Liberty means nothing to those who would benefit from behaving contradictory to its meaning. The ignorance of this nation is not just measured in the election of one of the most ignorant men in American history to the highest office. That ignorance is also found in at least half the population of this nation, in the courts, in the DOJ and in the world of business and the media. The values most expressly ignorant are in the manner of the treatment of women, minorities, immigrants and asylum seekers. The major fault lies in the American Educational System. It is no wonder that those who have chosen ignorance over rationality are in control. Ignorance breeds aggression. Cooperation does not. Ignorance breeds violence. Cooperation does not. Ignorance breeds anger, resentments, revenge. Cooperation breeds compromise and success. This nation is in deep trouble.
The Democrats have no-one to blame other than themselves for this disaster. This is the ignorant mess that has been created ever since Harry S. Truman told the American people of the character of the Republican mind-set as far back as the late 1940s and early 1950s. The American educational system has failed to educate. Millions of American voters have failed to vote. Hundreds of millions of dollars have been spent needlessly on the undecided, the lazy, the illiterate and the self-centered. Now we stand at the precipice of fascism and ignorance whereby the last three generations of Americans are about to insult their parents, grandparents who died to preserve their government. It very well could happen in the next few years. I am glad I'm old. I'll be gone and will not live to see it.
