Donald has already caused deaths “just to assuage his ego:” think Covid; think gun control; think of his affair with Putin and what that’s led to in Ukraine, and now Israel and Palestine via Putin’s friends Hamas and Hezbolah, and the countries for which they are surrogates; think Puerto Rico hurricane “relief” and paper towels. Think of the Threats he’s made, directly and indirectly, not only to Gen. Milley, but to his own Vice President, and how many others out there that we haven’t heard about. Last night I watched “Got Gotti” on Netflix (about the NYC mob boss in the ‘80’s) and remembered hearing how Rudy Giuliani “cleaned up” NYC, cracking down on the mobsters. No wonder Donald kept him around for so long, there were a lot of subtle tricks to be learned - each to each - but even Rudy couldn’t handle Donald, the capo tutti di capi.

The Media is ignoring Donald’s threats, his attempts to destroy our faith in Our Government, his lunacy, out of fear, ratings-I’m not sure. It is Our Democracy that will suffer.

I had thought that Gen. Milley's most embarrassing moment came when Trump had peaceful protesters gassed so he could do a photo op outside a church holding an upsidedown bible. I always thought Trump cruel, but his out & out viciousness & willingness to entice a minion to finally kill someone (or many someones) for him is ... unfathomable. I truly don't see the mystique. My sister, to this day, vehemently defends him & once told me she'd be proud when I said Trump would probably sexually abuse her daughter. Koolade much? I never saw the lure of people like Jim Jones, Jim & Tammy Baker, Hitler, Putin or others like them. Trump is definitely another one. Thank you for the article, Ms Trump. I truly hope he doesn't get anyone killed just to appease his ego.

Mary, you have nailed it, again. I don’t know what it’s going to take to stop that Uncle of yours, but he’s got to be stopped before more people get killed by his lunatic followers, and sheep 🐑!

Or may take family, relatives, to go to the courts and tell them that he needs to be put somewhere where he’s not a danger to himself, or others. Because right now, he’s more than a danger. He’s gone to the point of physically threatening people. Saying that General Milley should be put to death is a serious threat, especially coming from someone like him that has the white supremacy following like he has. Donald is a narcissistic sociopath and he needs help. The only place he’s going to get it is in a mental hospital.

Ruth Ben-Ghiat (Ruth Ben-Ghiat professor on fascism and authoritarian leader. I subscribe to her and am on her zoom conferences with her substack folks. She's a professor of history and Italian studies at New York University. She's also on substack under "Lucid". Please go look. I just pulled up her zoom that I'm attending. It's called, "How Media and Journalism Can Defend Democracy from Fascsim." You can sign up for it or I can send it to you it's open to non-subscribers 10/4/2023 from 7-8 on zoom.

I have been bitchin' about the media coverage for a century. They allow him air .

Ah, Cassidy Hutchinson (I'm pretty sure I'm right) said he wants the attention good or bad. Mary probably said that, too .

Donald is a kleptocratic mob boss

Yeah, we saw the low-level thug and delusions of grandeur early on like when he was coming down that escalator with his wife. A sign fell over held by a likely planted adoring and stiffed (?) fan. Then the appearance through smoke (I forgot where) ... omg and smoke and mirrors is what he does.

We were warned by Ms. Mary but now what? That's why I'm going to that Ruth Ben-Ghiat forum tomorrow night. Then there will be more now whats and more questions.

Yes, trumps post was definitely retaliation for The Atlantic article. Milley will probably be called as a witness in the J6 trial. Once judge Chutkans protective order is finalized, and trump threatens another witness, I think he should be jailed for 7 days. No campaigning, computers or press interviews. The next infraction will cost him 30 days.

Expand full comment

Unfortunately, its a simple thing for a jailed individual to write a statement, and then pass it along to a visitor to be published on SM, or at Fox, or where ever. So he would still have his voice, and losing his abilty to campaign, and/or the use of computers for seven days wouldn't mean much, and might even give him a big boost among his followers. He'd say "I'm in jail FOR YOU!!". They in turn would SCReam, "He's in jail FOR US!" .

30 days? That's another story. I would expect nationwide violence, but these days I sometimes wonder if that wouldn't, (aside from injuries and the loss of lives, of course, especially those of our law enforcement folks), be a good thing, as a sort of a cleansing moment for our nation. I would absolutely think that law enforcement would win the day, and giving a lot more future insurectionists a court date might have the effect of quenching their desire to follow tfg, even over a cliff, and in so doing, ruining everything that they ever worked for; home and family, etc.

A "wife with a rolling pin" might then be a formidible force in their lives, as they gear up for another insurection. I've heard of such cases already. The wife; "If you go, DON'T COME BACK!! We've got KIDS to feed !! ", the tumper; "Ok fine then. scheesh." The simple idea of their being on the wrong side of the law, will work greatly in our favor.

So thirty days? Woof. I think so. But we should expect consequences.

After several months, it seems we will never see trump held accountable for witness tampering. Perhaps more sanctions. However, that “cleansing moment for our nation” just might be our destiny.

You knew. We knew. 'The Trump Show (comedy tv show) knew. Ted Cruz knew. Lindsey knew. Blah, blah, blah... every-freakin'-body knew exactly what was bound to happen well over six years ago. We know exactly what will happen in regards to that child-man and these folks in the next ten minutes or ten months. When will the adults in the room take back control?

Thank you for being such a clear eyed speaker of truth on trump. How can it be that his followers cannot see through him? How can normal everyday hard-working people, many of whom are friends of mine, be so blind to his evil, smallness, and demented actions? I hope to live long enough to understand how so many people can’t tell right from wrong. I believe though that we will find out in the hardest way possible for our country.

Why isn’t Trump already in prison. Why are Democrats and Biden so afraid to let loose and DESTROY TRUMP AND REPUBLICANS on all the opportunities they keep being handed by Trump and his mafia gang?

Thanks so much for your commentary, Mary; it's invaluable! I just don't get why it's taking so long to get Judge Chutkan to respond to Smith's motion to have Trump gagged in some way!! It just takes one person (like Nancy Pelosi's husband!) at any moment in time with Trump shooting his mouth off continually about his specific grievances. I guess today is the deadline for the 'defendant's' lawyers to respond to Smith's motion, but when is Chutkan gonna pipe up about this crap. Trump is a HUGE danger to many people! He must be stopped (legally) from being able to continually precipitate violence and it having serious effects on the jury pool, prosecutors, judge, as well, regarding the Jan 6 trial!! I could go on and on, but I'll stop here.
