Serves him right,he deserves to lose everything

So does Donald, especially!

While there is some satisfaction in this development for Rudi, what America really needs right now is a broad swath of criminal punishment for Trump’s co-conspirators, willful enablers, and supportive liars.

Imagine if we had a DOJ that looked into #SeditionCaucus members who should be removed due to the 14th Amendment and their breach of Oath of Office. And the criminal recommendations noted in the Mueller Report never went anywhere.

In a perfect world, I’d move Kamala Harris to US Attorney General and put Adam Schiff in as Vice President. Let them both do what they do best. And let’s give America more confidence that their vote for Biden will keep this democratic administration headed on a stable course.

Todd, I wholeheartedly agree with your first paragraph.

So do I buy only the first paragraph.

I especially want the financial support that the insurrection received, investigated and prosecuted. Agree 100%, go after all of them.

Great point, Jack. If we follow all the money back to the sources, there may be a few oligarchs that can be pulled into the conspiracies as well. And how many of them aren’t American?

Expand full comment

oligarchs are above the law. it's been proven again and again. Frankly, I'm surprised the women who beat Rudy didn't meet an unfortunate accident. they must have good security

If we follow the money we'd end up at the supreme Court with some of the justices there with criminal intent and criminality on their hands. But, I agree follow the money if you can. Citizens united, supreme Court Justice John Roberts favorite piece of legislation doesn't let you do that. It is not possible to follow black money when the supreme Court says it's snowy white white.

Or make Adam Schiff the US Attorney General. He is qualified too. And he has more experience with #SeditionCaucus and their antics.

"Imagine if we had a DOJ that looked into #SeditionCaucus members who should be removed due to the 14th Amendment and their breach of Oath of Office."

We wouldn't even have to have had that if the larger Democratic party had listened to Rep Cori Bush THE FIRST TIME and passed her #HR25 which she had drafted three days after the insurrection and recommended the expulsion of every member (all Confederate Republicans) who refused to vote for the certification of POTUS Joe's election.

But the larger Democratic party refused to do that and acted like she hadn't said anything.

Imagine how much damage could've been avoided if the party in power had taken her advice.

I agree completely, but you can tell a Clinton NeoLib by their "But we can't pass (whatever) without Republican votes! We need to be nice to them!"

That's the same stated reason Bernie Sanders's "public option" was taken out of the Affordable Care Act, to appease the Republicans—and you know what? The bill passed without a SINGLE Republican vote anyway! It makes me wonder who the Hillary Dems are REALLY "being nice" to, given it doesn't matter what they do for Republicans, they'd rather slit their wrists than vote with Democrats!

I say FUCK the Democrats, and FUCK the Clintons, who are Republicans who happen to have "D"s after their names. Hillary Rodham Clinton was a Goldwater Girl back in the Sixties, and from what I can tell NOTHING has changed with her since then....

Thank you, Mary. I'm so glad to know Rudy won't get away with avoiding at least partial payment. I have no sympathy. If he, and your uncle could keep heir mouths shut, they wouldn't be in this month. More power to you and kudos for keeping us informed

When Rudy sells his real estate in NYC and FL he'll also have to pay Federal and state taxes, probably at capital gains lower rates. I don't know, under bankruptcy laws, if the taxes have to be paid from the proceeds, but whatever is left (after mortgages are paid) will go to Shay Moss and Ruby Freeman. If I were Moss and Freeman, I'd have someone talk to Rudy's 3 ex-wives, and their divorce attorneys, to find out more about his assets and how he hides them.

Looks like he will be living in a cardboard box soon, along with a famous ex president.

O_M_G Scott... your comment nearly caused me to spray a mouthful of coffee at my screen ! Tanks for dat.. May I borrow that brilliant pun ? It's a so very appropos rejoinder to aim at perfunctory religiosity dog whistles in common usage, and deliciously 'snarky' too ! *edit in > Hell, I may even adopt that as my first ever tattoo aside from my scars ! Bravo !!!

a little poetic justice too that the hero of 9/11 -- will now be paying actual hero public servants. Thank you Shay Moss and Ruby Freeman. America loves you.

Mary I agree with everything you say. Shay Moss and Ruby Freeman absolutely deserve that money. They also deserve to go down in history as the American heroes that they are, for safeguarding a corner of American Democracy, just as they deserved the JFK Profiles in Courage award that they received.

And Giuliani deserves to lose everything he has.

#ETTD

Everything Trump Touches Dies, as coined by Rick Wilson.

And that started a loooong time ago, too. Rudy Ghooli and Donald started cozying up to one another as far back as the 80s.

Once Rudy's verdict was delivered, I started reading all kinds of things coming out about how his father had also been a criminal (much like Jared Kushner) AND that it was the St Louis mafia that apparently quietly helped him get much of the leadership of the Italian mafia convicted in NY ... in order to make room for the RUSSIAN mafia.

Which makes all sorts of sense (and makes a lot of what I couldn't quite make sense of in Craig Unger's book about Donald and Fred and their real estate mafia ties make even more sense).

I don't believe so. Knowing that the justice system is working and the rules are equal to all of us deserves to be celebrated every moment of every day, as it has been so rare in human history and never to be taken for granted. Thank you!

Karen Humphries -- No, we're not terrible for being glad Rudy is finally "paying the piper". I have watched many cases on Judge Judy's TV series where people who have almost no money are forced to pay plaintiffs they have wronged. In America no one is above the law.
