I was on a videochat with a friend from Dutchland and one from Asia. We have been friends for decades and happily catch up as much as possible and as often as we can. I do not understand how they cannot see what I see in tfg 🤯🤦🏽‍♀️🤯🤷🏽‍♀️🤯 and feel like I have to defend the truth from non-citizens who are dear to my heart. 💔🤯💔

Mary as both an outsider and an old pollster I'd point out that it is not only that your weird electoral system makes certain states key, but within them - because your politics is now so tribal - only a tiny number of people are available to change. These people are decisive, but are themselves usually indecisive and uncaring, motivated mostly by emotion and often trivial factors (as example, in my early career in New Zealand I had to tell a senior politician the biggest issue his party faced was his weight! -the story of this is in my personal substack Fleeting Glances if anyone is interested). For political advisers, this is problematic enough but if you craft your campaign to cater to this tiny minority of the uncaring and indecisive, you risk alienating your core base who have this ridiculous idea that politicians should stand for something - they then don't bother to vote. This tricky task of maintaining enthusiasm and turnout in the mass base, while subtly twisting and turning the minds of the tiny minority of undecided is bloody difficult and hopefully one that Biden's advisers are putting great thought into. To do it well though takes a candidate of genuine enthusiasm and energy. On behalf of the rest of the world then, I pray Biden can find it.

So glad to hear you say this-all of this. Polls are easily skewed, and methodology matters. Of even greater concern is the biased media reporting that may be driving even reliable polls. We need to get the word of Biden's achievements out to our friends, families, and social media contacts, because the press isn't doing its (one) job.

The blame for the polls of mental fitness are split evenly on the left and right side of mainstream media.

The obsession to tear down Biden and to somehow make him anywhere equal to Trump has gotten me to take in a fraction of the daily news I’m use to.

Nicole Wallace show on @msnbc is the only show I can rely on to live in reality and truth daily.

I realize the point is for networks to make money,

but for God’s sake, this is our democracy that’s at stake.

Let’s also remember that “right-wing media” doesn’t really have a “progressive” counterpart.

Right wing media is 10 network channels, 10k AM radio stations (huge impact, often forgotten), and 50k evangelical churches with preachers threatening eternal damnation.

Quite the contrast in terms of message effect.

Really! "Progressive Media" is a smattering of YouTube channels (Legal Eagle, Brian Tyler Cohen, Glenn Kirschner, MeidasTouch Network, The Majority Report, Ring of Fire), some halfhearted support from MSNBC (Nicolle Wallace who I don't think has a regular show yet, MORNING JOE, THE BEAT WITH ARI MELBER, THE RACHEL MADDOW SHOW, THE LAST WORD WITH LAWRENCE O'DONNELL, and INSIDE WITH JEN PSAKI), and some podcasts I don't really listen to because I feel like cutting my wrists as is....

Biden should initiate a campaign in which he asks every business in the U.S. to reduce their prices by 3%, and describe it as a patriotic act. Make a catchy name for it and publicize the crap out of it. He needs to reach people that are struggling every day to make ends meet.

I think the primary reason for the bad numbers is the fact that a dollar is now worth about two-thirds of what it was in 2020. People see this every single day on everything they buy. Biden just needs to explain this head on.

Who paid for the poll?

As soon as possible, Donald Trump must be tried on at least one of the four insurrection indictments, and Article 3 of the Fourteenth Amendment needs to be activated against him.

So interesting that year after year the margin of error in these polls is so large. You would think predictive AI modeling would help here.

It’s disgusting how the”news” drones on about Biden’s age! What about his accomplishments? Trump is a disgrace I was hoping this country was done with!

The trump trogs know they can't win, so-o-o. With Speaker Johnson being a trump troglodyte and 2nd in line to the presidency, I believe many trump troglodytes are plotting the early demise of Biden & Harris so Johnson can take over and give it all to trump. & I believe they will try it before Nov 2024. JMO, but I hope the Secret Service becomes aware of their plot and catches them in the act so they can be tried and convicted of high treason, and imprisoned for the rest of their miserable lives.
